Still a family company after almost 125 years and five generations!
"The Whole Lot" is part of Adam Purves Galashiels Ltd, the origins of which go back to 1879 when Adam Purves started in business in Galashiels as a blacksmith. The firm grew through the years with bicycles, motor-cycles, early hire vehicles(charabancs) and eventually motor cars, becoming dealers and distributors from 1921 until 1995 for Austin, Morris and eventually Rover. Now the company are Mitsubishi dealers in Melrose and operate petrol service stations throughout the Scottish Borders and Edinburgh.
"The Whole Lot" opened in 2002 in the small town of Melrose which is a favourite destination for visitors and Borderers alike for its unique small town charm, traditional shops and beautiful surrounding countryside. It has quickly gained a reputation for its outstanding choice of gifts, collectables and antiques.
